Wickham Park is a non-profit, private foundation whose property extends into both Manchester and East Hartford, Connecticut. The park contains 280 acres of gardens, open fields, woodlands, ponds, picnic areas, sports facilities, and other attractions.
JOB TITLE: Grounds Crew
SUMMARY: Weekly hours vary from 32 in the off-season to 40 during peak times. Crew members perform all aspects of grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction, etc. Adheres to all workplace standards as relates to: job performance, work output, and job decorum. Must be willing to work with the public and in a team-based atmosphere. Work is conducted outside year-round and weekend hours are mandatory at least one day a week. Scheduling is flexible but there are times when weekends or holiday work is required.
REQUIREMENTS: Education or experience in grounds care, construction, landscaping, small equipment operation, etc. is a plus. Must be physically capable of performing required duties and manual labor.
DUTIES: Although under the supervision of the Director and Grounds Foreman it is expected that the grounds crew will uphold and perform to the highest standards of the workplace. As with all employee’s, duties vary with different activities and grounds crew will perform any new or temporary duties as instructed. Salary is commensurate with experience and background. JOB TITLE: Ranger
SUMMARY: Wickham Park is looking for part-time security personnel, starting immediately. Persons experienced with security law enforcement and/or dealing with the public are encouraged to apply. Salaries vary with level of experience. Weekends are required.

Summary: Working with the park’s horticulturist to maintain and improve the gardens throughout the park.
Requirements: Basic knowledge of various herbaceous and ornamental plants and their care.
